The Heart Behind the Stories
Planting little seeds of mindfulness for children and families.
Hello!
I’m Alia Sallam — a mindfulness coach and meditation guide who believes that even the smallest calm moments can make a big difference.
Little Seeds of Mindfulness grew out of my own mindfulness journey and a wish to share simple, gentle ways for children and parents to explore calm, kindness, and curiosity together.
Each story and practice is an invitation to slow down, notice how we feel, and connect — planting little seeds that can grow into awareness, empathy, and joy.

About Little Seeds of Mindfulness

How Little Seeds of Mindfulness all started
Little Seeds of Mindfulness is a children’s book series created to nurture calm, curiosity, and kindness in everyday life. With soft watercolor illustrations and gentle storytelling, the books make mindfulness feel simple and real — something children and their grown-ups can explore together.
For little ones (ages 2–6), the stories follow friendly animal friends who guide children through everyday experiences — from understanding feelings and noticing nature, to practicing kindness, gratitude, and calm through the senses, breath, and play.
For older children (ages 6–9), the books feature illustrated kids their own age, inviting them to explore thoughts, relationships, and self-awareness in ways that feel relatable, thoughtful, and kind.
At its heart, Little Seeds of Mindfulness is about planting small seeds — moments of calm, courage, and compassion — that grow with children as they do.
I created Little Seeds of Mindfulness because I wanted to share simple, gentle tools that help bring more calm and awareness into everyday life. When I thought about where these practices could make the biggest difference, I knew I wanted to start with children — and with the grown-ups who guide them.
If little ones can grow up learning to notice their breath, their feelings, and the world around them, they begin to carry that awareness into everything they do. And when parents or caregivers practice alongside them, mindfulness becomes something shared — a quiet rhythm that connects families through presence, curiosity, and care.
The characters and gentle illustrations invite children to pause, notice, and explore their emotions in playful, compassionate ways. Every book also includes a Parent Page — a short reflection and simple practice for adults — because mindfulness is something we can all return to, together.
My hope is that each book plants a small seed — a moment of calm or kindness that can grow in both children and adults, reminding us that mindfulness is really about being here, with care and kindness, one breath at a time.
