The Heart Behind the Stories

Planting little seeds of mindfulness for children and families.

Hello!

I’m Alia Sallam — a mindfulness coach, meditation guide, and the founder of Little Seeds of Mindfulness.

My own mindfulness journey began later in life, when I started learning tools that helped me slow down, understand myself more deeply, and meet my feelings with more calm, compassion, and kindness.

Little Seeds of Mindfulness grew from a simple wish: to share those tools with children from an early age.

I created this space to help little ones grow up with gentle ways to notice their feelings, understand what is happening inside, and return to calm without forcing it.

Through mindful stories, playful practices, books, and creative resources, Little Seeds of Mindfulness supports children and grown-ups in growing together — with more connection, self-awareness, and kindness along the way.

Brand mission

Little Seeds of Mindfulness is a children’s book series created to nurture calm, curiosity, and kindness in everyday life.

Through soft watercolor illustrations, gentle storytelling, and simple mindful practices, the books help children and their grown-ups explore feelings, awareness, and connection in ways that feel real, comforting, and easy to bring into daily life.

At its heart, Little Seeds of Mindfulness is about planting small seeds — moments of calm, courage, compassion, and curiosity — that can grow with children as they do.

Brand Overview

For little ones ages 2–6, the stories follow gentle animal friends who help children notice feelings, explore everyday experiences, and practice mindfulness through breath, play, movement, kindness, and the senses.

For older children ages 6–9, the books feature illustrated children their own age, inviting them to reflect on thoughts, relationships, self-awareness, and emotional growth in ways that feel relatable and kind.

Each book is designed to be more than a story. It becomes a shared experience between child and grown-up — a gentle way to pause, connect, and practice together.

How it all started

Little Seeds of Mindfulness grew out of my own mindfulness journey and a deep desire to make these practices feel simple, gentle, and accessible for families.

When I thought about where mindfulness could make the biggest difference, I kept coming back to children — and to the grown-ups guiding them.

If children can grow up learning to notice their breath, their feelings, and the world around them, they begin to carry that awareness into everything they do. And when parents or caregivers practice alongside them, mindfulness becomes something shared — not a perfect routine, but a quiet rhythm of presence, curiosity, and care.

That’s why I created Little Seeds of Mindfulness.

I wanted to make books that do more than tell a lovely story. I wanted to create something families could actually use — especially on the big feeling days.

Each story invites children to pause, notice, and explore their inner world in playful, compassionate ways. And each book includes a Parent Page with a short reflection and a simple mindful practice for adults, because mindfulness is something we return to together.

My hope is that every book plants a small seed — a moment of calm, curiosity, or kindness that can grow in both children and adults, one breath at a time.
